Dr. Charles Smurthwaite, DDS, MS
A Rocklin dentist with a scientist’s training and an artist’s eye — focused on implants, cosmetic dentistry and sedation for patients who want it done right.
Before dentistry, Dr. Smurthwaite studied the living sciences — earning a BS in zoology from BYU and an MS in biology from Southern Illinois University. That foundation shapes how he treats: every smile is a biological system first, and a work of art second.
After earning his DDS at the University of the Pacific, he kept going. Advanced study at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in neuromuscular occlusion and cosmetic dentistry, laser periodontal therapy, and orthodontics through the Strait-Wire Academy means patients get implant, cosmetic and bite care planned together — not piecemeal.
He and his family live in Rocklin, where he's active in local schools and the community. Patients describe him the same way again and again: calm, honest, and meticulous.
